Tennis in the Faroe Islands
Interest in tennis is steadily growing in the Faroe Islands.
The Faroese Tennis Federation (Tennissamband Føroya – TSF) was established in 2018 and has since worked actively to develop and strengthen the sport across the country aiming to create strong conditions for both recreational and elite players.
Efforts are now focused particularly on improving indoor tennis facilities in the Faroe Islands to make it possible to host more international tournaments.
As of 1 January 2026 the Faroese Tennis Federation will become a member of the European tennis organisation, Tennis Europe. This will allow Faroese players to compete in European tournaments, both as individuals and as part of national teams.
In 2025 the Faroe Islands won the men’s team event at the 2025 International Island Tennis Tournament for the first time. The tournament was held on the Isle of Man as a stand-alone competition, since tennis was not included in the Orkney Island Games.
