Racket stringing will be available throughout the badminton competition.

Courts can be booked for training in the days leading up to the competition.

Badminton in the Faroe Islands

Badminton has a long history in the Faroe Islands.

The sport was first played in the capital in 1958, when a badminton club was founded. At that time matches were held in the gymnasium of the Municipal School.

The sport quickly grew in popularity, and by the mid-1960s regular tournaments were being held – including national championships and competitions for younger players. Women also began participating.

Faroese badminton players have performed well at the Island Games, particularly since the turn of the century winning numerous medals in both team and individual events.
