Poula Michelsen joins the team
02.09.2025
Monday, August 18, was Poula Michelsen’s first day at the Games office in Tórshavn, where she has taken up the role of Sports Director for the 2027 Betri International Island Games.
Earlier this summer, Poula attended the 2025 Island Games in Orkney, where she had the opportunity to familiarize herself with many of the tasks she will be managing over the next two years.
“This was a golden opportunity to gain insight into the working world I will be part of in the coming years, and I got a great deal out of this work trip,” says Poula Michelsen.
Sports and more
In the run-up to 2027, Poula will be responsible for preparing all sports competitions for the Betri Island Games. Working closely with 14 federations in the Faroese Confederation of Sports and Olympic Committee (FCSOC), her main task will be to ensure that all facilities and competitions comply with IIGA regulations.
She will also take on other important responsibilities, including overseeing the large volunteer programme that will be essential to the success of the Games.
We warmly welcome Poula Michelsen to the team and look forward to working together.
