Gozo
Gozo is the second-largest of the Maltese Islands, after Malta, and is connected to the main island by ferry and helicopter services.
It is also known as the "Island of the Three Hills", although in reality it features many cone-shaped elevations that resemble extinct volcanoes.
The capital city, Victoria – also known as Rabat – is located near the centre of the island, perched on one of its many steep hills, surrounded by fertile farmland.
Gozo is considered to be more fertile than Malta, with a strong connection to agriculture, particularly in the cultivation of fruit, vegetables, and grapes, as well as dairy production. Fishing also plays a role in the local economy, while tourism is rapidly becoming the island’s most important economic sector.
Gozo is the newest member island of the IIGA.
